H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti appeared before the Senate Public Accounts Committee to respond to issues arising from the Auditor-General’s report for the Financial Year 2024/2025, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to prudent use of public resources and compliance with national accountability frameworks.
During the session, it was noted that Machakos County had achieved clean audit reports in several key entities, including the Receiver of Revenue (RoR), the Machakos County Bursary Fund, the County Climate Change Fund, and Mwala Level IV Hospital. The Committee also commended the county for its consistency in honoring Senate invitations, while the Auditor-General acknowledged the notable progress made in strengthening financial accountability systems.
The Senate further recognized ongoing reforms aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and reporting standards across county departments, reflecting a broader commitment to good governance and institutional strengthening.
The County Government of Machakos reaffirmed its resolve to continue enhancing financial management systems, sealing loopholes, and ensuring that public funds are effectively utilized to deliver tangible benefits to residents.
